Coffee System Formats for Yacht Installation

Traditional two-group espresso machines produce the highest quality output and are preferred on large yachts with extensive service crew. Bean-to-cup superautomatics offer consistent results with minimal training and are well suited to owner-operated vessels and secondary service points such as beach clubs.

Marine-Specific Installation Requirements

• Water supply and filtration: A dedicated filtered water line with a pressure-regulating valve is essential; onboard water requires a suitable scale-inhibiting filter to protect boilers and group heads.
• Drain management: Drip trays must drain to a secure waste line rather than an open tray, preventing overflow during vessel movement.
• Voltage and frequency: Specify dual-voltage, dual-frequency machines to ensure consistent boiler temperature and pump pressure across global electrical supply variations.
• Vibration tolerance: Grinder burrs and group head seals are sensitive to sustained vibration; anti-vibration mounts are recommended.
• Placement: Coffee systems are often sited in the pantry or service station, allowing stewardess crew to operate independently from the galley.
