Leading superyacht galley equipment brands — Rational, Miele, Dometic and more supplied by The Superyacht Galley

Why We Work With These Brands

Every brand in our portfolio has been evaluated against the stringent demands of superyacht galley operation: SOLAS compliance, space efficiency, performance at sea, after-sales support availability and total cost of ownership. We do not list every manufacturer we have ever contacted — we list the ones we are proud to specify.

Direct Relationships

We maintain direct commercial relationships with every brand we supply — ensuring preferential pricing and priority availability.

Marine-Grade Expertise

We know which domestic and commercial models adapt to marine environments and which do not — saving you costly specification errors.

Global Supply Chain

We coordinate delivery from any manufacturer to any shipyard, marina or refit yard worldwide, with full logistics management.

Equipment Brands We Specify and Supply

The Superyacht Galley works with the world's leading commercial and marine galley equipment manufacturers. Our brand relationships are built on direct accreditations, factory training and years of practical specification experience — not on distributor arrangements or stock incentives. Every brand we represent on this site is one we specify because the equipment performs to the standard required aboard a working superyacht.

The brands listed here are not exhaustive. We source from a wider network of manufacturers for specialised equipment — refrigeration, beverage systems, ice makers, induction units and ancillary galley equipment — and can advise on the appropriate brand for any specific requirement. What you see here represents the brands we specify most frequently, for the most critical galley positions, across the widest range of vessel types.

How We Choose Which Brands to Specify

Brand selection is never automatic. Each specification decision is based on the specific vessel, programme and budget. We consider performance under marine operating conditions, the availability of service support in the regions the vessel operates, lead time reliability, parts availability and whole-life cost. A brand that performs superbly in a shore-based kitchen may be entirely unsuitable for a vessel that spends six months annually in remote Pacific cruising grounds with no service agent within 2,000 miles.

Independence From All Brands

We receive no commissions from any manufacturer. Our accredited status with the brands we represent involves no exclusivity, no volume commitments and no obligation to specify any brand in preference to another. When a project calls for a brand not listed here — because the requirement, the vessel type or the supply chain situation makes a different brand the right choice — we will say so and specify accordingly.

Frequently Asked Questions — Equipment Brands

Why do you specify the same brands repeatedly rather than always choosing the best available?+
The brands we specify most frequently are the brands that consistently prove themselves to be the best available for superyacht galley use. Rational combi ovens appear in most of our specifications because they are the reference standard for professional combi cooking — not because we have a commercial relationship with Rational. When a different brand is genuinely the better choice for a specific application, we specify it. Our independence means we have no reason to do otherwise.
What makes a brand suitable for superyacht use specifically?+
Several factors distinguish marine-suitable brands from general commercial equipment suppliers. Construction quality sufficient to withstand vessel movement at sea. Stainless grade and surface treatment appropriate for a salt atmosphere. Compatibility with the vessel's power supply — including generator power quality and voltage fluctuation tolerance. Service network coverage in the regions the vessel operates. Parts availability outside of major manufacturing centres. Not all commercial equipment brands pass these tests.
Do you supply all brands at competitive pricing?+
Yes. Our supply chain relationships across multiple territories mean we can source at competitive pricing for all brands we specify. We obtain quotations from multiple supply points where appropriate and present the most competitive option consistent with the required lead time and delivery location. We do not add undisclosed margins to list prices — our procurement fee is declared separately and transparently.
Can you specify equipment not listed on your brands page?+
Yes. The brands listed here are those we specify most frequently. For specialist requirements — induction cooking surfaces, blast chillers, vacuum packers, coffee systems, water makers and others — we source from a wider network. If a client has a strong preference for a particular brand, we will assess its suitability for the application and, if suitable, source and supply it. We are not limited to the brands listed here.
Which brand do you recommend for combi ovens?+
Rational is our default recommendation for combi ovens in most superyacht galley applications. The iCombi Pro is the reference standard — precise, reliable, supported by an extensive global service network and familiar to professional chefs worldwide. Unox is the alternative we specify in applications where Rational's service coverage is limited or where budget constraints make the Unox a better whole-life cost option. Both are capable of exceptional results; the choice depends on context.
Which brand do you recommend for marine refrigeration?+
Dometic is our primary recommendation for marine refrigeration. They are the only major manufacturer focused specifically on marine refrigeration applications — their products are designed for vessel movement, salt atmosphere, variable power supply and tropical ambient temperatures. For larger walk-in systems, we also specify purpose-built marine refrigeration solutions from specialist suppliers. Domestic and commercial refrigeration brands are rarely appropriate for superyacht use.
What is the difference between the MKN and Hobart product ranges?+
MKN focuses on high-performance cooking technology — their cooking systems are specified in demanding professional kitchens and are increasingly appearing in large superyacht galleys where culinary programme intensity demands top-tier cooking equipment. Hobart's primary strength in the superyacht context is warewashing — their dishwasher and glasswasher range is a strong alternative to Winterhalter, particularly for applications where the Hobart service network has better coverage. We specify each where the application best suits their strengths.
Do equipment brands offer marine-specific warranties?+
Warranty terms vary by brand and by equipment category. Dometic offers specific marine warranties for their refrigeration products. Rational, Miele Professional and Winterhalter offer standard commercial warranties that apply to marine installations in the same way as shore-based installations. We ensure all equipment is registered at installation and advise on the specific warranty terms for each item procured. For complex or remote-operating vessels, we also advise on extended warranty options and maintenance contracts where manufacturers offer them.
